Samsung air purifier pollution level indicator isn't working

The pollution level indicator on your Samsung air purifier lets you know the quality of the air in your environment. If it seems like it's stuck, you can clean it or test it to see what might be causing the issue.

Important
Dusting or cleaning the room may not cause the PM levels to change if the particles created are bigger than PM10. They will still be filtered from the air, however.

Tear some paper near the sensor.

Tearing paper near or rubbing a bare fingertip against the sensor should cause PM levels to change and confirm the sensor is working.

Request service.

If the sensor levels don't change after performing this test, visit our Support Center to request service.

Condensation can form inside the air purifier when it is quickly brought from a cold environment to a warm one. For example, during the winter season, the air purifier may be exposed to cold conditions before being brought inside and turned on. This condensation will cause the pollution level indicator to be red, but will correct itself after 1-2 hours of use.

Clean the sensors.

You can clean the sensors with a handheld vacuum.

Make sure you're not cooking with gas.

If you have recently cooked with gas, ventilate the room for 1-2 hours.

Clear the area of anything that adds humidity to the air.

When humidifiers, electric pressure cookers, sprayers and such are being used in the same room, the pollution level may be measured as Poor.

Unplug the air purifier, and plug it back in after 1 minute.

Request service.

If the indicator still appears red, visit our Support Center to request service.
