How to set up and navigate the Galaxy Fit3
Set up the Galaxy Fit3
Setting up the Galaxy Fit3 is easier than you might think.
- First power on the watch band. Press and hold the Power button until the watch turns on.
- You may get an automatic pop-up on your phone to add the Fit3. If so, simply tap Connect.
- If you don't get a popup notification, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone manually.
- Tap the Menu button, and then tap the plus sign to scan for new devices to add.
- Locate the Galaxy Fit3 in the list of available devices, and then tap on it to add.
- Verify the number on your watch matches the number on the screen, and then tap Confirm.
- Review the terms, and tap Continue.
- Follow the remaining prompts until your watch setup is complete.
Navigate the Galaxy Fit3
When you set up the Galaxy Fit3, you can choose to take a tour of the watch, which will help you get started with navigation. If you skipped the tour, or just need a refresher, you're in the right place.
The screen you see when you press the Power button to wake up the Fit3 is your home screen. From the Home screen, you can navigate using these motions.
- Swipe down to access your Quick Panel. The Quick Panel is essentially a shortcut to these settings:
- Sleep mode
- Power
- Do Not Disturb
- Always on display
- Settings
- Vibrate
- Flashlight
- Find My Phone
- Theater mode
- Airplane mode
- Water lock
- Screen brightness
Swipe up to open your list of apps. When your apps are open, you can swipe back down to return to your home screen. The apps are:
- Health (Samsung Health)
- Media Controller
- Find My Phone
- Weather
- Calendar
- Timer
- Alarm
- Stopwatch
- World Clock
- Calculator
- Camera Remote
- Settings
Swipe left to view your tiles. You can only have 8 tiles at a time, and you can change them from the watch or your connected phone. Tiles include:
- Daily activity
- Multi-workouts
- Sleep
- Weather
- Today's events
- Media Controller
- Heart Rate
- Cycle tracking
- Clock
- Connected devices
- Samsung Health trackers
- Monthly calendar
Check your notifications on the Fit3
Swipe right to open the Notifications screen. From here you will see any notifications that you've allowed from your phone. You can tap on one for more details. For example, if you have a text message, tapping it will show the following options:
- Reply
- Show on phone
- Block notifications
- Trash icon (delete)
If you tap Reply, you can choose from a list of pre-set quick responses to send, but you cannot type a custom message on the Fit3. You can, however, edit the quick responses.
To edit them, scroll to the bottom of the list and tap Manage on phone. This will open Quick responses in the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone where you can add or remove a custom response.
Change the watch face
Using the watch
- Touch and hold the Home screen on the Fit3 to open the watch face menu.
- Swipe left to scroll through the watch face options.
Note: The options that appear directly on the watch are favorites. You can only have 10 favorites on the watch at a time. - Tap the watch face you want to use.
Using the connected phone
- Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
- Tap Watch faces.
- In the top row, you'll see your favorites. These are the watch faces that will appear directly on the watch when you want to change watch faces from it. To select one, simply tap the watch face you want to use. To change the favorites, tap Manage in the upper right corner of the row. You can tap the X on any watch face to remove it and make space for a new one.
- From the Watch faces screen in the Wearable app, you can scroll up and down to any style you like, then scroll left and right in that row to look at each option. When you find one you want to add to your favorites or use on your watch, just tap the watch face.
- On the following pop up, tap Add.
Customize the tiles
From the Fit3
- Scroll left to navigate to a tile.
- Press and hold a tile. It will shrink slightly when it goes into edit mode.
- To reorder the tiles, tap the right arrow in the bottom corner to move the tile to the right, or the left arrow to move the tile left.
- When you have the tile where you want it, tap the tile to drop it in place, and then if you're finished, tap the tile again to exit edit mode.
- If you want to remove a tile, touch and hold it, and then tap the delete icon that looks like a red minus sign.
- If you want to add a tile, swipe left and scroll all the way to the end of the tiles. Tap Add tiles, and then select the one you want to add.
From a phone
- Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected phone.
- Tap Tiles.
- In the top row, touch and hold the tile you want to move, and then drag it to its new location.
- To remove a tile, tap the delete icon that looks like a red minus sign.
- To add a tile, tap on any tile from the list to add it to your favorites. You can have a maximum of 8 tiles at a time.
Customize the Quick Panel
Customizing the Quick Panel must be done using the connected phone.
- Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
- To remove an option, tap the delete icon (red minus sign) on the setting you want to remove.
- To add an option, tap the add icon (green plus sign).
- To reorder the options, touch and hold the setting you want to move, and then drag it where you want it.
Assign a function to the Home button
- Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
- Tap Band settings.
- Tap Advanced Features.
- Under Home button, tap Double press.
- Tap either the feature or app you want to assign to the double press function.
Use Find My Phone on the Galaxy Fit3
- On your Fit3, swipe up to open your apps.
- Tap Find My Phone.
- Tap Start. This will make your phone emit a ringing noise.
- Once you find your phone, simply swipe the X on the screen to stop the sound.
