Care for dog beds in your Samsung washing machine and dryer
Did your precious pup make a bit of a mess in their bed? Or, maybe their favorite blanket is getting a little musty. No worries, you can put most dog beds and other pet items in your Samsung washing machine and dryer. Regularly washing your dog bed will keep it free of bacteria and allergens, so your companion always has a clean and cozy place to sleep.
Tips for washing your dog bed
If you’re unsure where to begin when washing your dog bed, you can review our cleaning tips below.
Your dog bed should be washed once per week or every other week, depending on how often your dog uses it and how much your dog sheds.
If your puppy enjoys laying in their bed after being outside, wipe down their paws when they come into the house. This will prevent dirt and mud from entering the bed.
Be sure to check the care instructions for the appropriate water temperature to use when washing the bed. However, most beds should be washed using high temperatures to kill bacteria and allergens.
If needed, you can use a stain remover or a little bit of mild soap to spot clean any areas that are especially dirty. This can be done before adding the items to the washing machine. Just dampen a towel or brush with soap and gently rub at the stain.
Avoid harsh chemicals when washing your dog bed. We recommended using a hypoallergenic, pet safe detergent.

Note: Make sure to check the care instructions on your dog bed, blankets, and other items to make sure you wash them correctly.
Most dog beds come with a removable cover, which can be washed separately in your washing machine. If the cover is not removable, you can still wash the entire bed in the machine. Use the steps below to properly clean your puppy’s bedding!
If the bed has a removable cover, take that off first and then remove as much hair, dust, and dirt as possible using a vacuum. Upholstery attachments for vacuums are perfect for this. If the bed does not have a removable cover, you can vacuum the bed itself.
Place the cover (if it has one) and the bed into the washing machine. Make sure to wash these items separately from your other household laundry.
If there’s space, consider throwing in your dog’s blanket, cushions, or soft toys. Make sure to check the care labels first!
Then, start the load. You can use the Bedding, Allergen, or Normal cycles on your washing machine. For instructions specific to your washing machine, please refer to your user manual.
When it’s finished, you can air dry the items outside or use the Air Fluff cycle on your dryer. For instructions specific to your dryer, please refer to your user manual. Remember to clean out your dryer’s lint filter to remove excess dog hair.
If the dog bed still smells a little funky, you can add a small amount of white vinegar to another load and wash it again. You can also use this method to clean out your washing machine and dryer before your next load of household laundry.
