Privacy Notice for CCTV at KX

This Privacy Notice is supplemental to Samsung’s general privacy policy at www.samsung.com/uk/info/privacy (“GPP”) and explains the privacy practices of Samsung Electronics (UK) Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of England and headquartered at Samsung House, 2000 Hillswood Drive, Chertsey, Surrey KT16 0RS (together “Samsung”, “we”, “us”, “our”) with respect to the information collected by Samsung for the purposes of operating CCTV on our premises at Coal Drops Yard, 1 Stable Street, London N1C 4DQ (“Premises”).

This Privacy Notice provides details about how your personal information will be collected, used, shared, and stored by Samsung when operating CCTV on our Premises.

In case of any inconsistency or conflict between the terms of this Privacy Notice and the GPP, the terms of this Privacy Notice shall prevail.

Samsung Electronics (UK) Limited acts as data controller for the processing of your personal data.

What types of information will Samsung collect about you?

When we use CCTV on our Premises, we endeavour to minimise collection of personal data wherever possible. However, we may collect the following categories of information:

● Images and video footage of living individuals

How is the collected information used?

Samsung will use the collected information described above for the following purposes:

● To administer and analyse the running and operation of the Premises and the services Samsung offers from the Premises;
● To monitor and oversee activities and potential issues at our Premises;
● To ensure we comply with health and safety requirements at the Premises;
● To ensure compliance with our policies regarding theft, harassment and other suspected criminal activity.

Samsung’s legal basis to process personal data includes processing that is necessary to comply with legal requirements (for example, to make disclosures to law enforcement for the purposes of the investigation of crime) and processing necessary for Samsung’s legitimate interests.

To whom do we disclose your personal information?

We may disclose your information internally within our business to the relevant teams such as, without limitation, the customer services team and the legal team. We may also share your personal data with parties including (but not limited to): (a) third party service providers or business who assist us in the operation of the CCTV system, and who undertake analysis based on the footage collected by the CCTV system; and (b) such third parties we reasonably consider necessary in order to prevent crime or protect the rights, property or safety of SEUK. We do this in a manner which is compliant with data protection legislation.

Please note that we may also share your personal data with other members of the Samsung Electronics Group of companies (including our parent company, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, based in the Republic of Korea), where this is relevant.

How We Protect Your Personal Information

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we obtain through Samsung against unlawful or unauthorised destruction, interference, loss, alteration, access, disclosure, or use. However, please note that despite our reasonable efforts to protect your information, no system or wireless connection is completely secure.

International Data Transfer

Our use of CCTV may involve the transfer, storage, and processing of your information outside of your country of residence, consistent with this policy. Such countries may include, without limitation, the Republic of Korea. Please note that the data protection and other laws of countries to which your information may be transferred might not be as comprehensive as those in your country. We will take appropriate measures, in compliance with applicable law, to ensure that your personal information remains protected. A copy of these clauses can be obtained by contacting us as specified in the How to Contact Us section of this Privacy Notice.

Retention of Personal Data

We take appropriate steps to ensure that information about you is only retained based on the following logic:

● as required under law, a contract, or with regard to our statutory obligations; or
● only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, is processed, or longer if required under any contract, by applicable law, or for statistical purposes, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Subject to the above, any footage captured by the CCTV system will be held for a maximum of 60 days from recording.

Your Rights and Choices

You are entitled, in accordance with applicable law, to object to or request restriction of the processing of your personal information, to exercise your right of data portability and to request access to, rectification, or removal of your own personal information.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you consider that our processing of your personal data infringes applicable law. The relevant supervisory authority for the UK is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
