This guide provides you with troubleshooting solutions if you encounter issues with your SmartTag2. It will cover common issues such as the product not turning on, freezing, Bluetooth connectivity issues, and more.

SmartTag 2

Product does not turn on

  • When the battery is completely discharged, your product will not turn on. Check the battery before using the product.
  • The battery may not be inserted properly. Insert the battery again.
  • After wiping the terminals, try reinserting the battery.

Product freezes or encounters a problem

  • If the product keeps freezing or slowing down, remove the battery and reinsert it and reset the product.
  • Step 1: Insert the ejection pin supplied with the product or a clip into the battery tray hole, and pull out the battery tray gently from the battery tray slot.
Step 2 : After pressing and releasing the button once, insert the battery tray into the battery tray slot while pressing the button again.
Step 3Hold the button for more than 7 seconds until the product makes a sound.
  • If the battery has not been properly recognised, the product will make a sound immediately after inserting the battery. If this happens, try the method again.

Another Bluetooth device cannot locate your product

  • Ensure that the device you wish to connect with is ready to be scanned or connected to.
  • The location of the product is based on the GPS and Wi-Fi positioning results of the device connected to the product, and some problems may occur because of the surrounding environment or GPS failure.  Ensure that the device you want to connect to your product is nearby.
  • Reset your product and try again.

You cannot find your product’s current location

GPS signals may be obstructed in some locations, such as indoors. Set the mobile device connected to the product to use Wi-Fi or a mobile network to find the current location in these situations.

A small gap appears around the outside of the product

This gap is a necessary manufacturing feature, and some minor rocking or vibration of parts may occur. Over time, friction between parts may cause this gap to expand slightly.
