How to set up SmartThings Energy and check for supported devices in the SmartThings app

The SmartThings app allows you to connect and control your smart home appliances and devices from one place. The energy management feature allows you to monitor energy usage, optimize efficiency, and effectively manage your connected devices. Follow this guide to add the Energy service to your SmartThings app and see which devices are supported.

Measure and check energy usage in real time with SmartThings Energy by setting up the Energy service in the SmartThings app.

1 Navigate to and open the SmartThings app on your phone, and then tap the Life tab.

2 Swipe to and select Energy.

3 Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.

After connecting your devices in the SmartThings app, you can check which devices are supported by SmartThings Energy. Supported devices include devices that provide energy monitoring and saver functions.

Note: This feature is available on Samsung Smart TVs released in 2022 and later.

1 Navigate to and open the SmartThings app on your phone, and then tap the Life tab.

2 Swipe to and select Energy.

3 Tap the More options icon (the three vertical dots).

4 Select Your supported devices.

5 Select Supported devices to check which devices are supported by SmartThings Energy.

6 Select Unsupported devices to view the list of devices not supported by SmartThings Energy.

Notes:

  • When AI Energy Mode is turned on, the screen brightness is automatically adjusted to save energy after analyzing the brightness of the viewing environment.
  • Depending on viewing conditions, the video may appear slightly dark.
  • Energy saving mode does not run in modes that prioritize the viewer's visual experience, such as game mode or AI mode.

Notes:

  • If you are having trouble with your Samsung Smart TV, you can check for available software updates, as these may contain a solution to your problem.
  • Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version.
