How to fix disconnection issues between your TV and the SmartThings app
If you're experiencing disconnection issues between your Samsung TV and the SmartThings app, don't worry! We've got you covered. In this guide, we'll show you how to troubleshoot and fix the problem step-by-step. With our simple tips, you'll be able to restore the connection and enjoy the convenience of controlling your smart home devices with ease.
Check the wireless network status
To ensure a smooth data reception and avoid temporary interruptions when loading the SmartThings app, it is recommended to check the status of your wireless network. If your router and TV are far apart, the communication may not be seamless, which can result in registration failures.
Note: If there are already 10 devices connected to the router, you may experience registration failure.
Check for software updates
Ensure that your smartphone's software and the SmartThings app are up-to-date, and in case they are not, update them. Additionally, update the firmware of your TV if required.
Note: The SmartThings app is compatible with phones running Android 8.0 or higher, and iOS 12.0 or higher.
Note: On newer Samsung TV models, you will need to select Settings, and then select All Settings.
Notes:
- To resolve any issues with your Samsung Smart TV, it's important to check for available software updates as they may include a solution for your problem.
- Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version.
