Top Mount Fridges

What is a top mount fridge?

This model is the most traditional configuration in Samsung’s range of fridges, however, has been designed to look equally clean for contemporary space. The top mount configuration is the opposite of the bottom mount fridge design, and features the freezer on top of the fridge compartment. Top mount fridges are generally preferred for smaller homes or those with limited kitchen space, given their compact design and layout.

What are the benefits of a top mount fridge?

A key benefit of owning a top mount refrigerator is space. Given the configuration of stacking the freezer above the fresh food compartment, these refrigerators are far more compact compared to a more sizable french door or side by side fridge. Samsung’s fridges have SpaceMax™technology to ensure that the refrigerator walls are thinner, allowing for a more spacious interior. They also feature all-around cooling, LED lighting, and a twist ice maker for your convenience. Some models also include a slide and reach pantry to conveniently store meat and seafood at an optimum temperature.

How much space does a top mount fridge have?

Top mount fridges are known for being compact and perfect for smaller homes, but tend to store less than some other fridge configurations. Samsung’s fridges have been designed with functionality in mind to ensure that there is ample storage space for almost every home. These designs range from 305L, all the way up to the largest at 599L. Even with the models designed for small household sizes, these fridges include large bottle door bins and strategic compartments to optimise storage space.

Which is better: a top mount or bottom mount fridge?

The choice between a top mount or bottom mount fridge will ultimately come down to lifestyle. For those with a larger family and often need access to the frozen compartment for meals and snacks, a top mount fridge may be the option for you. If you have a smaller household, or tend to reach for the fresh food compartment more frequently, a bottom mount fridge would be most convenient, given it places the fridge at eye level.
