The Volume of the External Device Connected to Samsung TV Cannot Be Adjusted.

If you're unable to adjust the volume on an external device connected to your TV, follow these steps to check the connections and settings for proper volume control.

How to Ensure Proper Connections and Settings for External Device Volume Control

  1. Check the cable connection between the TV and the external device.

  2. When connecting an external speaker, such as a home theatre, via HDMI, ensure it is connected to the HDMI (eARC/ARC) port on the TV.

  3. Activate Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) via the remote control through the following steps:

Step 1. Tap the Home button on your remote control, then go to Settings.

Step 2. Tap All Settings.

Step 3. Select Connection.

Step 4. Select External Device Manager.

Step 5. Select Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC).

Note: 

  • Ensure Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) is active on your TV.
  • If the device is connected via Optical, note that volume control may not be possible depending on the device.
