Why Do My Overseas Photos Show the Original Location’s Time in One UI 7?
In One UI 7, the time display standard for images in the Gallery has changed from UTC-based to Local Time-based.
Previously, using UTC-based time display could cause images taken in different time zones to appear with incorrect times. For example, a photo taken at 12:00 PM overseas might have shown as 9:00 PM when viewed back home.
To improve this, One UI 7 now keeps the capture time fixed to the original location’s local time, ensuring that the displayed time remains unchanged even if the device’s timezone changes.
